It all started a hundred and few more years back, when a young traveling book salesman from Oswego, New York, realized that his customers were more interested in his fragrances than in his books. Like every other startup we were just a great business idea. The great success may not have followed if our founder Mr. McConnell had not chanced to meet the charming and resourceful Mrs. P.F.E. Albee. They shared the vision which led to the beginning of a great success story.
In 1886, our visionary founder David H. McConnell launched what we know now as AVON, on the revolutionary concept that women could earn an independent income – 34 years before women even won the right to vote. With the first sale of a pretty perfume set called “Little Black Dot” by our first representative Mrs. P.F.E. Albee we kick started our journey. And ever since there has been no looking back.
Since the company was founded , we have stayed true to the principles of our founder, David H. McConnell. Our commitment to providing women with economic independence through our earnings opportunity has remained strong decade after decade. We are and always will be firm believers of entrepreneurial spirit, empowerment & purpose.
