Detox your locks
Product build up can make your hair look dull and flat, so this is the perfect time to remove it. Shampoo once to remove any product build up and again to give let the shampoo thoroughly cleanse your hair and revitalise your scalp.
Massage your scalp
Spending a few extra minutes massaging your scalp as you shampoo is well worth it. It helps to stimulate circulation, which in turn will help promote healthy hair and scalp. It also feels really good, and can help you relax.
Conditioner is key
Condition your hair regularly to keep it glossy and smooth. For best results apply through your mid length to ends with a wide tooth comb and avoid the scalp so it doesn’t weigh your hair down. This will help smooth the cuticle and prevent further splits appearing.
Treating your locks to a luxurious-feeling hair mask is the ultimate route to hair heaven. Choose one suitable for your hair type and leave it on for at least ten minutes before rinsing. The longer you leave it to absorb, the better. For a super intensive treatment leave it on overnight.
Give hair a day off
Now you’re going out less, skipping a wash or two is easier, and your hair will thank you! Whatever shampoo you use, skipping a wash every now and then lets your hair keep hold of naturally conditioning oils. Try dry shampoo as an alternative to soak up natural oils which make our hair appear greasy. If you’re blonde it can also help make roots less obvious, letting you stretch out the time between colouring! It’s also great to use before working out, to soak up oil as you sweat.
Brush up on your brush skills
Did you know that hair is weaker when it’s wet? Using a brush with specially designed soft bristles will gently detangle your hair without causing damage. Start from the tips of your hair and work up to your roots for pain-free detangling.
Tease tangles with ease
If you still have stubborn knots or tangles, a detangling spray is your hair hero. Simply spritz it over your freshly-washed hair, avoiding the roots, and gently brush away any tangles without damaging your locks.
Protect hair from heat
Styling heat can dry out your hair and cause frizz and split ends. Whilst you’re at home, why not give your hairdryer and straighteners a break and let your hair dry naturally? Embracing the beauty of your natural hair will also save you time and effort. If you can’t skip the heat, a quick spray of heat protector will help keep your hair happy.
Get a body boost
To create extra body and bounce, use products like mousse or styling sprays. Apply sparingly directly into the roots for maximum volume.
Brush up the volume
Use a rounded brush for extra lift and volume. When drying your hair, point the nozzle of the hairdryer so the air blows downwards over the brush, keeping the hair smooth.
